(If ever there was a time to stop fighting each other and realize we’re all being played, it could be now, when trust in “leaders” is fraying.)
Too Fast
Is the pace of everything, from the designed-to-distract news cycle to tragic floodwaters, quickly ending innocent lives.
(And too fast did I try to write this article … I’ve since edited to make some parts shorter and some more clear)
Too fast is the impulse to claim certainty as to why things happen. From DOGE cuts and firings to climate change to cloudseeding - instantaneously, the Texas floods were surely caused by (whatever one is most into blaming for such things).
Others, with the strongest track records, wait and assess before claiming certainty. But if they feel something is off, sensing events are different than the narrative proclaims, they say so, with the disclaimer of still being uncertain.
“More facts are coming up. Texas has a long history of flash flooding predating mail-order weather.” - Michael Yon
This is the clearest article I’ve seen yet about what may(?) have caused or escalated the Texas floods. Patterns, complexity, and uncertainty are acknowledged. (If you think this is crazy, please read this.)
Floods of Blame
This may be an over-reaching assumption, but, likely (almost) everyone who instantly, angrily blamed DOGE / Trump admin cuts to budgets and staff for the extent of the Texas flood’s damage and death were the same people who instantly, angrily declared it cruel, heartless, and racist that Democrat policies were blamed (perhaps too quickly) when other tragedies occurred in Democrat-led areas, and / or when a Democrat was
pretending to bepresident. From lack of fire preparedness to lack of water to going beyond inclusion into obsession with identity over mission, even when that mission is fighting fires in an extremely fire-prone area, it wasn’t long ago that Dem policies were being blamed for disasters and their disastrous responses. I recall that the blame was more about the policies and politicians, and less about wishing death on the average voter, but maybe I missed something.
(No, LA Fire Department, most people want someone competent, not someone who “looks like” them to respond if in a burning building or a medical emergency.)
When the LA fires, Maui fires, Hurricane Helene disaster, etc., happened, one “side” considered it cruel to say anything was the fault of the government. Or to point out how many capable employees were fired for choosing not to inject themselves with “safe and effective”.
There may be a connection between federal cuts and these floods being more intense and deadly than they otherwise might have been.
It’s surely fair to wonder, and to look into. Sometimes cuts that claim to reduce the massive, unsustainable grift-laundromats that gov’t spending has become end up going too far. Sometimes way too far.
(Also - “Texas lawmakers failed to pass a bill to improve local disaster warning systems this year”)
“Big Brother Bill”
There are reasonable fears about the Big Brother Bill “Big, Beautiful, Bill”. There’s enough to scare everyone, from those who value autonomy from a digital control grid to those who, whatever they think of immigration enforcement, see that what’s happening is not just locking up violent criminals and deporting people not here legally, but innocent people are being destroyed. (And also, violent crime is down, and violent criminals are facing justice. The harsh realities of violent crime, (some) that (is) downstream of open, unvetted borders, don’t justify committing violence to other innocent people by imprisoning them with no chance to appear before a court.)
Like everything reactionary, in a circle of reactions, things claim to re-balance problems that may be quite real but end up going much further. The previous administration laundered money in the name of environmental causes and more, yet massive cuts that don’t consider what projects actually are doing valuable work aren’t a wise solution either.
I think a country with enough money to build military bases, drop bombs, and change regimes all over the world should prioritize providing (quality) medical care to all its (citizens). (Without eliminating the choice of private insurance, nor making health insurance insanely expensive for those on private insurance, as it is now.)
A fair case could be made for cuts to medical care after serious cuts to the “Defense Department”, which has become such a global bully, and funder of global bullies, that they ensure an endless crop of enemies angry at such bullying, which “justify” more bullying, and wars wage perpetually onwards, vaporizing massive amounts of money into poisoned air while people die and their homes and hospitals are blown up.
Unlike, say, bus fare, medical costs are astronomical. Some on the left have compassion for this, while others pretend to have compassion to score political points and wins, where they end up doing more harm than good while in office, to the people they serve and to the vanishing credibility of everything they say.
(And those whose compassion is sincere are prime targets for manipulation.)
For those reasons and many more, it’s understandable to be angry at this government. (It’s also noteable that those most angry covered for the horrors that the previous government inflicted on innocent people, from federal employees to trafficked migrant children, to people in need of organ transplants being forced to screw up their immune system or be denied lifesaving operations).
But informed, constructive anger at liars in government is different than relishing the deaths of those who voted differently.
The left talks about the hateful, intolerant right, but there are countless compilations of posts and statements like this, since at least 2016, seething with hatred for Trump supporters. Furious, perhaps even more so, at Trump voters who don’t necessarily support him, but made a different calculation. For reasons partially explained here.
Sadly, this is not at all surprising -
I looked at BlueSky the other day, the trending section on the Texas floods. I didn’t scroll down very far, but I didn’t see any posts of general glee about everyone who perished in the floods. I saw posts criticizing that sentiment in others, that seemed to be calling for compassion for flood victims.
But it was actually a similar sentiment, just a tad less obviously brutal. The gist of almost all the posts I saw was something like -
“Of course Trump voters deserve to die in floods that are all their fault - but children are innocent, and Texas isn’t as red as it claims - some who died may have been on the Blue Team. So, we shouldn’t be cheering deaths of people who may not even be MAGA, we’re better than that.”
Consistency, COVID, and Cruelty
Another lovely recent quote going around is this gem ~
“May all visitors, children, non-MAGA voters and pets be safe and dry. (prayer emoji)
Kerr County MAGA voted to gut FEMA. They deny climate change.
May they get what they voted for.
Bless their hearts.”
Notably, and illustrative of why the left lost so much support and credibility ~
Those words delighting in the deaths of humans who voted differently were posted by Dr. Christina Propst. Dr. Propst encouraged the public to report Dr. Mary Talley Bowden to the Texas Medical Board.
Dr. Bowden was among the disinformation spreaders doctors who met COVID with curiosity about what worked to mitigate its harm, and among the doctors who met the vaccine injured with respect and curiosity about how to help them.
Of course the most virulent MAGA-haters would be leading the charge to punish doctors like her. Daily Kos had ads for a group “No License for Disinformation”. MoveOn made horse de-wormer jokes and fundraised on voting out the only senator who listened to the vaccine injured. Covid, truly, killed the left.
~~ If you still believe the official narrative on COVID and “safe and effective”, I humbly and strongly urge you to look at these thorough, scientific explorations of how what we were told about COVID vaccines and treatments was not “Following the Science”, it was a tangle of official-sounding dishonesty that can be clearly, with due diligence and roots, traced back to explain what is untrue, what is true, and what is still unknown.
Also … I’d be honored if you could read the second part of this piece with an open mind. Including the section on “Beware the Wikipedia, etc. Trap”

Some Are Not Cruel
… but are heartsick, devastated, scared, mobilized, and certain that whatever is being done by Trump & Co is far, far worse than anything that came before, or would have happened if (whatever puppets) Kamala Harris, whose campaign required job applicants to be “up to date” on COVID shots in 2024, were occupying the White House1.
A recent email from an influential writer expressed emotional pain, grappling with where this country is going, who will be hurt, the urgency of these times2 …
This person, who I’ve never met, is admired in progressive circles where “regulatory capture”, and “pharma corruption” used to be understood, and mindfulness of what one puts in one’s body.
They were uniquely influential in reaching people who may have been skeptical about the COVID narrative and helping them be comfortable with getting injected, and dismissing those who cast doubt on the shots, who turned out to be right.
I think they really believed the data from on high, and from a friend who worked at a hospital in one of the bluest cities. (Hospital workers are the most propagandized-to population. A tragic disrespect of the sacred, intense work they do. The people the narrative told us to clap for every night at 7pm while denying them information that could have kept them safer and making them “first in line!” for a shot that, even if it could have been made safely, so early on it was impossible to give the “it’s safe!” assurances that were given,)
This (almost surely well meaning) influential writer was sure that repurposed drugs3 were conspiracy theories, and the injection, while not perfect, was good enough considering the circumstances (as the false narrative portrayed those circumstances), and the right thing to do was take a small risk for the good of society.
If they understood that the risk of serious harm was ~1 in 800 .. (eight hundred - two zeros), they probably would have felt differently. But they believed the official narrative on COVID so fully, and all the emotional triggers were activated - fear, community, duty, sacrifice - nothing from outside that narrative could be let in.
To be fair, if every info source in the progressive world wasn’t united in repeating the narrative while manipulating compassion, they, and others, probably would have had more skepticism.
And as everything with the story we were told of COVID, even protecting the vulnerable and not getting people sick was inverted. When one’s body becomes a spike protein factory with no off switch, spike can be produced for years.
(I would not post the below article if it wasn’t impeccably sourced and explained. I, too, had thought that idea was preposterous, and could discredit more “serious info”. Turns out the concept of shedding from what’s technically a gene therapy is solidly serious info. There are other gene therapies which are acknowledged to be capable of spreading to others.)
(The article looks paywalled, but there’s lots of info before the paywall.)
Yes, I Keep Coming Back to COVID
Because those wrestling with grief-filled confusion as to how we possibly could have gotten here, and those who hate and wish death upon Trump voters aren’t making the connection. A few years ago, front pages of newspapers, late night comics, and groups that now are screaming “Urgent! Listen to us to Save Democracy!”, were wishing death, disease, and exile for “the unvaccinated”. That was not a small factor in this election.
If it’s possible to realize the left’s vicious vaccine pushing was profoundly damaging to credibility, and was not based on authentic evidence, and was propped up by censoring and smearing those who had authentic evidence …
then maybe this moment can make more sense. And maybe people othered as “maggots” can be seen as humans.
And …
“Covid is the Story that Diagnoses the System”
-Dr. Bret Weinstein
Every week for over four years, I’ve listened to evolutionary biologists Bret Weinstein and Heather Heying’s Evolutionary Lens podcast. They met COVID with scientific minds - neither accepting nor rejecting the official narrative. It wasn’t reflexive distrust of government, or vaccines, that lead them to conclude the official narrative wasn’t just wrong, it was, in (almost) every way, an inversion of reality.
They listened to the official narrative, also listened to those who were silenced and smeared, and used (simple, basic) principles of honest science, actual science, to figure out what was true.
They’ve both traveled to the jungle and have been willingly vaccinated with all sorts of vaccines. They applied scientific knowledge to COVID, explained their thought processes, were called crazy, and were right about pretty much everything.
Around minute 45 here - (excellent recent episode), they discuss how COVID “revealed the disfunction across all our institutions.”
Insisting that the COVID disaster be understood is not about going back in time. It’s about understanding the process that allowed it to happen, realizing what it led to (turbo cancers, developmental delays, problems with pregnancies, fractured relationships, misplaced trust in a dishonest system and lying narrative, and so much more).
Tracing back how fear and compassion and data and everything was manipulated during that time “pulls back the curtain” and makes it more likely that it won’t happen again.
I’ve said this before, it’s important enough to repeat …
** If you’re trying to make sense of why Trump got so many votes, or why people who come from the left supported Kennedy and / or voted for Trump, and / or refused to vote for Harris, and you haven’t digested that the COVID vaccines are not just “not as effective as advertised, nor perfectly safe, and Pharma made too much money” - but bad enough where “crime against humanity” is *not* an exaggeration - you’re missing a momentous foundation of this inflection point / political inversion.**
People often hear something different than what’s meant. I’m not saying Trump and his cabinet and advisors are all the Good Guys. I’m not saying they should be trusted. If there are any good people inside that government (and I think there are a few, but even that may be wrong), they have much less power than their titles suggest, they’re in a system so corrupt. Vigilance is surely needed now, not misplaced trust in government.
Just saying that the COVID and vaccine /mandates disaster was such a betrayal, it deflated the Democrats of even the pretense of integrity. It led many who hadn’t, and still don’t, trust Trump make a lesser-evil calculation that may have tipped the scales. It made a candidate’s stance on vaccine mandates the most important factor for many in considering who to vote for, in all elections.
This is What Unravelling COVID Shows -
From the much-respected, meticulous, Midwestern Doctor -
“ . . .A very aggressive and coordinated campaign to neutralize anyone who disputed the narrative on social media. Early on, I began to suspect this was happening because I’d see the same bad actors (typically doctors) use the same sculpted talking points. In April 2024, I found out an industry funded group did indeed exist, and that:
•Many of the people I’d suspected were in a coordinated conspiracy did indeed belong to a secret group (“Shots Heard”) dedicated to fighting misinformation online.
•That group was tied to the Federal Government and funded by the pharmaceutical industry.
•That group, one by one, would target dissident healthcare workers and attempt to both get them removed from social media, to have their medical licenses taken away or get them fired from work, and in some cases, to directly harass them at their homes. . . “
The system that unleashed carnage, division, and “trust the experts” lies all around the world is bigger than one political party. It’s bigger than the similarities between political parties saying the same things all over the West. It’s still very much alive.
But the criminal, unscientific insanity of how far the left took the COVID response - from demonizing honest doctors and actually safe, effective medicines to demonizing the unvaccinated - was another level from the political side that entered COVID with a - sensible - distrust of the official narrative.
The media of the left and the Democrats were united, with one voice, in repeating “safe and effective” and contemptuously dismissing other voices - including, especially, COVID doctors, and the injured.
How the left handled COVID, and covered for obscene authoritarianism, helped millions of people see that something is happening that, to put it mildly, makes “profits over people” sound gentle and naive.
The authoritarianism rising now looks different than the previous flavor of authoritarianism.
Calling it out now without reckoning with what just happened isn’t likely to be listened to by people not already on the same page. Actually, it poisons whatever truths there are that need to be said now. When entities organizing / fundraising around fighting the (cruel) lack of due process for sometimes even legal immigrants being locked in dungeons are the same entities who organized around taking licenses away from doctors who were saving lives - it’s hard to take them seriously.
There is an agenda larger than any one person. And mRNA tech is part of that, and it’s still moving ahead. (This is extremely disturbing).
The “lesser evil” of not reinstating mandates of those (not safe nor effective) products is both tremendous and nowhere near enough.
For lots of reasons, it behooves us to learn more about the mRNA technology that they yearn to get inside everyone, why to stay away from it, oppose it, and also ways to mitigate physical damage.
And why a reckoning is needed - with those who knowingly inflicted massive harm. Not the average person with a different hat or yard / window sign.
This isn’t about excusing the abuses and betrayals of government, it’s about not hating people who voted differently.
I’ll leave you with this from Diane Perlman, PhD, from four years ago, about the age-old practice of psychological manipulation that divides the people to distract them from realizing they’re being lied to.
Diane’s Substack, and life path, are about “A transcendent, solution-oriented, therapeutic, healing approach to conflicts and reversing cycles of violence based on interdisciplinary social science, peace studies and conflict transformation.”

That may turn out to be true. As I said here, it’s a low bar but a heavy weight, to be worse than a gov’t which was, actually, a child trafficking delivery service, and that forced the most economically vulnerable workers and students to make a dystopian choice, and gaslit them when they got sick from obeying, while censoring the simple info everyone needed for informed consent. But Team Trump may end up setting in motion events that are even worse, I don’t know. But I think the most dangerous forces work through both “teams”.
These are valid feelings that I’m not trivializing, just attempting to put in context. There are sickening abuses of power going on right now (as there were before, just in different form). When seen through missing context and amazing selective empathy, the full picture, including how we got here, is distorted. And even in areas well deserving of criticism, the Democrat’s narrative is often warped to the point of reality inversion (peaceful MacArthur Park, a family-friendly heaven until ICE showed up, for example). This doesn’t help the people they’re claiming they want to help.
This topic, which won’t be memory-holed, that COVID was treatable all along, in protocols of which natural medicine was part but included pharma drugs - aligns with a core of this person’s reasoning to get injected - wholistic medicine has many uses, but sometimes natural medicines are not enough. Yes. That’s why studies were manipulated to discredit the repurposed drugs.
