Two Narrow Narratives of the Anti-ICE Riots
1) The protests are peaceful, open borders are compassionate, the only problem is Trump 2) ICE has never destroyed lives for no reason, they only enforce the law. Both are false.
“We need a sense-making narrative neither Right nor Left, nor in-between, grounded in compassion and showing a path toward peace.” - Charles Eisenstein
Summary:
Open, unvetted borders are not compassionate. To anyone.
The flood of migrants is orchestrated by multiple NGOs. “Replacement Migration” is the title of UN document, not a conspiracy theory.
Migrants are human beings, some fleeing tragic conditions in countries the US had a role in destabilizing. It’s possible to recognize that open borders are untenable while also not dehumanizing people, some who are being used by forces they don’t understand.
Americans of all races and countries of origin voted to have a functioning border and to deport migrants who crossed illegally.
But what’s happening is beyond that - people are being disappeared into literal concentration camps. Some of them came legally and are taken when they show up to appointments, as they try to go through the legal process. Lots of people would be angry at ICE for any deportations, but throwing humans in places like CECOT, with no evidence of crimes committed, fuels animosity towards ICE / law enforcement.
There are immense double standards in how peaceful, or, “mostly peaceful”, different protests are viewed by different “sides”.
Question everything. There may be deeper agendas at play. Violence serves the power structure in various ways. Whether the deeper agenda is to overthrow the government that was just democratically elected, or to give that government an excuse for dystopian surveillance in the name of “public safety”, it’s important to be alert, recognize patterns, not immediately believe all of any narrative.
Whatever is manipulating the left wants violence. Whatever is manipulating the right wants an excuse for constant surveillance / digital prisons in the name of “safety”. Likely it’s the same forces upstream, manipulating both. Violence feeds excuses for crackdowns, which feeds more violence …
Stay peaceful. (Actually peaceful, not “mostly peaceful”.)
The powers-that-shouldn’t-be want us in energy of othering, hatred, and chaos.
“Build Bridges, Not Walls”
Was a button I wore during Trump 1.0. I had no idea what it meant practically. Metaphorically, it sounded like a good thing. Metaphorically, it still does.
Walls divide, bridges connect. Bad Trump Wants Wall, which must mean that Good People Do Not Want Wall.
That simple equation every leftie remembers at all times. Rightwing = bad, racist, and ignorant. (Exceptions may be made for former right wingers who realize the error of their ways, and for Republicans who sufficiently hate Trump. Cringing to remember that I used to respect The Lincoln Project, an odious, arrogant group of propaganda-spewing liars. That was many lifetimes ago.)
What I was clueless of when wearing that button was that welcoming an infinite number of unvetted migrants into any country is not as compassionate as the slogans imply.
Of the many problems downstream from uncontrolled, unvetted migration, the worst is the opportunistic opening for cartels to get rich selling the most lucrative “products” they can sell - innocent children. For sex. Migrant, brown-skinned children, some who are Indigenous and don’t even speak Spanish, have been the most victimized by the tragedy of open borders. Voting against that doesn’t make one a white supremacist.
I wrote about this here ~
Note for Liberals & Progressives Assuming Every Trump Voter Sided Against the Vulnerable
[This may be too long to fit in one email - but shorter than my previous articles(!) Please click the headline to read it on Substack]
Yet the narrative says anyone who thinks a Western country should have a functioning border is some sort of white supremacist. No.
(That said, there is a fine line between righteous frustration with open borders and dehumanizing the people who come through those borders. Unvetted borders welcome millions of people - it’s naive to pretend that doesn’t include brutal criminals taking advantage. And much of the “law enforcement” in blue cities has no problem with this. And at the same time, migrants are humans deserving of respect, and the vast majority are not brutal criminals.)
In this excellent article, Charles Eisenstein asks us to remember our humanity and understand how destructive a seed dehumanization is, while not pretending that open unvetted borders are a viable situation -
“The laudable goal here was to address the social disruption, drug trafficking, human trafficking, sex trafficking, and labor exploitation that accompany ungoverned immigration. The poison seed is the dehumanization of the migrants themselves, the vast majority of whom fled to this country from desperate circumstances—circumstances caused in large part by past US policies like economic imperialism, sabotage of labor and land reform movements in Latin America, neoliberal wealth stripping, support for death squads, dictators, and juntas, and in particular the global debt regime that compels countries of the Global South to export their resources and labor. It is a lot easier to blame the migrants for ‘not respecting our laws’ than it is to countenance the real causes of illegal immigration. It is much easier to paint the migrants as cat-eaters, criminals, and grifters than it is to feel their misery and examine our contribution to it.”
Yet - and this can be comprehended without dehumanizing any individual or group - when keeping a border wide open, advertising that to the world, facilitating networks of NGOs to bring migrants here from everywhere with expectations of free everything, while forbidding border patrol to do their jobs, and letting migrants with criminal records disappear into sanctuary cities, where law enforcement isn’t even allowed to arrest them …
A great deal of harm can result.
“No Human Is Illegal” sounds kind and reasonable. But it’s not legal to travel to Ireland, Iceland, or the Ivory Coast and assume one can stay forever without going through legal channels.
These Democrat-voting Brooklyn liberals would probably agree that bridges are nicer than walls and no human is illegal, yet they don’t feel safe in their own neighborhood since a shelter for illegal migrants opened.
It’s not a sustainable way to run a country. It’s not compassionate, to anyone. It’s not compassionate to migrants when rape is the payment for being guided to the border, or when unaccompanied children are speedily transported to unvetted sponsors and then not checked on.
It’s often legal immigrants and low-income people who are hurt when low-wage jobs become even lower-wage jobs. This is one of the reasons lots of immigrants did not vote for Harris, who took their votes for granted.
“The role of legal immigration of the past . . . was designed to absorb immigrants, with all of their cultural differences, and acclimate them — in ways that our nation could manage (and from which it could even benefit) — into our social contract and into our robust culture as Americans.
That is what used to be meant by the beautiful phrase, ‘We are a nation of immigrants.’ We, legal immigrants, all came here to become Americans together — meaning, to participate in this best of all social contracts, that involved equality of opportunity, freedom, a certain history, a rule of law, and a certain set of governance processes and founding documents.
But a culture requires some consensus and shared language, values, and beliefs, in order to hold together.
That is why we have naturalization processes, that teach legal immigrants about our culture and democratic systems, and that is why we used to have Civics classes.
‘Replacement Theory’ was supposed to be a right-wing conspiracy theory. And yet, here is the UN Secretariat White Paper from 2000: ‘Replacement Migration: Is it A Solution to Declining and Ageing Populations?’ - Naomi Wolf
So, understandably, Americans, of various races and countries of origin, democratically voted for Trump to deport people who crossed the border illegally.
With the assumption that “deport” means to transport migrants who came illegally back to their countries of origin.
If ICE Wasn’t Disappearing People Into Literal Concentration Camps, There Would be Less Hostility Towards Them
There would still be protestors of ICE deporting anyone. Even if ICE only targeted violent criminals and had tons of evidence to prove it, the state of the left these days is that some would still call that racist and wrong.
But if they only deported migrants who evaded the legal process, and only imprisoned criminals whose crimes can be proven to be proportionate to the sentencing, there wouldn’t be much public support for protesting that.
This is not to rationalize violence to people or property - which backfires anyway and hurts the causes it claims to help.
But if an ICE raid means that maybe undocumented migrants will end up back in Venezuela, with the choice to have their family come with them, that’s a different universe than people being sent to a hellhole like CECOT or Guantanamo, where they’re chained to other men, humiliated, probably tortured, and if they ever leave (not likely), they’ll be severely traumatized for the rest of their life.
While the Red Team shakes their head that the Blue Team pretends there’s no violence on the streets of Los Angeles, the Blue Team is horrified that the Red Team pretends no one has been wrongly incarcerated.
When the narrative tells obvious lies (like “safe and effective”), there are tons of credible writers, doctors, scientists, etc., who don’t just say the narrative lies but who explain how and where they lied, following the info all the way down.
I haven’t seen the government explain why some of these men have been disappeared with reasons that make sense. Claiming tattoos of crowns means someone is surely a member of Tren de Aragua is not reliable evidence.
I don’t know the creators of, nor the credibility of this site, Disappeared In America, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they omit some background (as they have with Kilmar Abrego Garcia).
But - if even some of these more than 1,000 stories are true, they reveal serious human rights abuses, that go far beyond what was advertised in campaign promises to “deport” illegals and imprison criminals. (Some may say that illegal border crossing is in itself a crime. This is true. Yet it’s not a crime proportionate to a likely life sentence in a torture dungeon. And some of the men thrown in CECOT came through legal channels.)
It’s hard to know the scale on which innocent people are being worse-than-imprisoned, as it’s filtered through the mainstream media and progressive groups, which have a dismal track record of accuracy. Yet, bullshit (the narrative) has no relation to truth, but sometimes contains truth. I have profound distrust for the official narrative, but automatically discounting 100% of what they say, in absence of credible info explaining why it’s not true, isn’t fair either.
I wrote here about some of the people sent to CECOT, and the tragedy of selective empathy, which is on all sides ~
Context, Catastrophes, and Selective Empathy
"Since so many people seem to have forgotten, due process is not enshrined in the US Constitution because the framers wanted to be nice to monsters. It is there because the framers wanted the new nation to operate according to the rule of law, not according to the will of tyrants, whose excuse for tyranny is always 'the monsters'“-
Double Standards of Protest Perception
The recent political climate is oozing with double standards. The same people who consider the current riots in Los Angeles to be peaceful automatically accepted that everyone who attended January 6th, even if they never entered the Capitol, or entered through opened doors and stayed between velvet ropes, was a violent insurrectionist.
The same people who would say no one besides provocateurs did anything violent at anti-ICE protests assumed that the (actually peaceful) gathering of Canadian truckers in Ottawa in 2022 - protesting forcing truckers who work mostly outdoors or alone to take COVID shots that didn’t even prevent transmission - was a hateful alt-right Nazi event. Because one idiot (provocateur?) briefly wove a Nazi flag for the cameras, and the official narrative spewed divisive, utterly false claims.
Legitimate or Illegitimate Protest - According to Who?
“Almost exactly five years ago, on June 6th, 2020, protests erupted in Britain after the killing of George Floyd. Thousands hit the streets in London, Manchester, Nottingham, Wolverhampton, and Bristol, in demonstrations that included toppling statues, blocking the M6 freeway, and in London, hurling flares and rolling bicycles at police. The BBC headline described “largely peaceful” protests: . . .
Once again, the public is being trained in distinctions between illegitimate and legitimate protest, regressive force versus righteous resistance. You can agree with it or not, but anyone who’s been to college knows what this is, and we should stop trying to hide it . . . Moderates would likely run back to Democrats if they would just act uncomfortable at the sight of masked protesters raising fists in front of walls of flames.” - Matt Taibbi, Racket News
“In wealthy neighborhoods, the law is still enforced. In poor and working-class neighborhoods, it is not. If you torch a car in Beverly Hills, you’re arrested. If you do it in East LA while shouting political slogans, you’re ‘engaging in protest.’ This two-tiered enforcement is not progressive. It is segregation by another name. It creates one set of expectations for the politically connected and another for the disposable. And in that framework, working people, especially immigrants, families, and hourly wage earners, are abandoned. They are the ones who walk their kids past open-air drug markets. They are the ones whose shops are looted and whose cars are stolen. They are the ones who call 911 and wait, and wait, and wait.” - Michael Schellenberger
Also worth remembering -
“Gavin Newsom and Karen Bass didn’t just preside over the most draconian COVID regime in America, they led the charge. They demanded the closure of public schools for over a year while keeping elite private academies, including the ones where Newsom’s own children went, open. They locked playgrounds and beaches, arrested surfers, and sent police to harass churchgoers, all while cheering mass protests in the streets. They mandated vaccines for city workers while spending billions to give unconditional housing as a reward for addiction.
California Democrats demanded that people show proof of vaccination to enter coffee shops, but allowed addicts to smoke fentanyl on the sidewalk outside. . . They prosecuted pastors for holding worship services but refused to prosecute men who beat women unconscious on public transit. This is not confusion. It is deliberate inversion.” - Michael Schellenberger
Question Everything - Who Benefits from the Violence - Curfew, Cameras & Crackdown Cycle?
Without speculating on how much of the violence is organic (but stacks of cement bricks left around is kinda suspicious … ), both “sides” of an unethical power structure (which may really be controlled by the same psychopaths at the very top), are using earnest people creating chaos to serve their ends.
The “this was totally peaceful until Trump sent in the National Guard and Marines” narrative is absurd. There was plenty of violence before.
Even through the lens of seeing ICE’s activities as going beyond law enforcement and into human rights abuses deserving of protest - throwing rocks at cars and setting things on fire, or making excuses for that, is not helping.
Although, I guess “not helping” depends on what the goal is. Seems like chaos and destruction is what’s wanted by some. Perhaps to gain sympathy and more members. Perhaps to bait a violent response. Perhaps to destroy this country - many who are not racist observe that an influx of military age men, even if only .05% of them have bad intentions or are being used by those who do, can result in serious violence, perhaps in coordinated ways, perhaps this weekend.
But does violence mean that government curfews, cameras, or the National Guard are the answer? Emergency measures that surely won’t be abused?
RESIST BINARY THINKING
“Violence bad, so any enforcement is good, from curfews to the National Guard to digital tracking.”
“ICE has gone beyond law enforcement and - in some cases - disappeared innocent human beings. So, #Resisting by breaking and burning shit, or pretending it’s not happening, or that it’s good, or 100% Trump’s fault, will help the plight of migrants.”
These are both common, limiting thought forms, where true observations + valid, natural emotions are being corralled - like the cops’ kettle bars at protests - into channels leading to an assumed conclusion. A conclusion that serves the predators, not the people.
Speaking of Predators …
It’s not crazy to protest this birthday military parade, sponsored by banks, corporations, and technocrats who are part of the predator class, while the narcissistic president1 - who just helped start a war and is paving the way for Palantir’s surveillance tech - makes a show of being for the average Americans and standing for freedom and peace.
But whatever pulls the strings benefits when a collective group-mind coalesces its anger onto one figure.
In George Orwell’s 1984 (Something everyone should re-read. ASAP.) there’s a daily Two Minutes Hate, where the people, who all share the same “mass formation” style group mind, release emotions of hatred and blame onto a mythical creature named Emmanuel Goldstein. This lets off steam and serves the bigger picture of keeping them all compliant. A compliance that seemed astonishingly dystopian decades ago, yet which I saw come to life during COVID, and continue ever since. (“Now it’s time to Stand With Ukraine!”)
This outstanding conversation between Matt Taibbi and Walter Kirn, starting around 1:17:45, is about 1984 and how the exact mechanisms Orwell describes are painfully obvious all around us.
Don’t Fall For the Traps - Violence and Surveillance Serve the Predators
“Time to deploy @PalantirTech to Los Angeles to deal with the illegals.
You know you’d love to see it.
You’re lying if you say you wouldn’t.” - Laura Loomer
Um, no.
“Facial recognition technology has already been introduced in some cities. In Trump’s first term he was pushing a biometric exit entry visa. There is the possibility that this is a psyop designed to push biometric entry exit visas and to promote Palantir or some other technology to create a database on every American.
Prior to these riots there was increasing pushback from the right against Trump’s big government spending bill, which among other things, prohibits AI from being regulated by states for 10 years. There was also growing backlash against the Trump administrations collaboration with Palantir to create a national digital database on every single American, and the Trump administration appears to be furthering the implementation of the control grid.” - Dr Joseph Sansone
It’s absurd for Democrats to pretend all was peaceful / under control “until Trump …”, when there’s plenty of video evidence showing the opposite. Blaming 100% of everything on Trump doesn’t make sense. He deserves plenty of blame, but not for every burnt car, every bottle thrown. Dems either pretend it’s not happening, say it’s actually good, or blame Trump.
At the same time, deploying the National Guard or Marines is a dangerous step.
Derrick Broze, ethical non-partisan journalist who doesn’t trust the narratives on the left nor the right, brings up the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878, which prohibits the U.S. military from being deployed domestically.
Then again, exceptions can be made for insurrections … then again, watch while the same people instantly certain Jan 6th qualified for “insurrection” make excuses for this one … But the deeper question is, who benefits from giving the powers-that-shouldn’t-be2 an excuse to clamp down in the name of “safety”?
Derrick Broze also warns of provocateurs instigating violence, as he witnessed with a burning vehicle during the No Dakota Access Pipeline encampment -
Look Deeper Than the Limits of All Narratives
“It is healthy for Americans to question the insurrection in Los Angelos, especially if it spreads elsewhere. Regardless, the purpose may be to polarize Americans emotionally to the point (where) they cheer on a biometric ID type tracking system or some other system.
We saw this after 911 where a brainwashed public (I was not one of them) supported the Patriot Act and the creation of the surveillance state infrastructure and those two unpatriotic wars. . .” - Dr Joseph Sansone
And as another war begins, notice the narrative coordination. At 5:42 here, where the good folks of Redacted News talk with Col. Douglas MacGregor, they show a screen of nearly identical tweets from politicians, right and left, about immediately, fully, unquestioningly supporting Israel.
Cultivate Peace
(It’s needed now more than ever ….)
I’ll leave you with wise words from Tessa Lena, a uniquely beautiful, insightful soul who radiates peace -
“We are being targeted—and have been for centuries—with heavy psychological weaponry that has to do mostly with the type of emotional energy that the aspiring masters are trying to evoke out of us. . .
Up - down. Left - right. Back and forth.
Yanking us, yanking us, yanking us, keeping us on edge, keeping us angry, anxious, complacent, hurting because we “understand” and “those morons” don’t ….
I don’t know about you but I think that all this puppeteering is not cute. And it’s time for us to stretch our bodies and soul and start thinking.
We have so much going for us. It’s time to wake up. . .
The mother of all psyops is not an idea, it’s not an opinion, it is a mechanism, a non-spooky “energy weapon” if you wish, that yanks people's energy off its natural orbit and turns people into unwitting helpers of the machine.
That is why it is so important to take control of our minds. . . “
Unfortunately, most presidents are narcissists and / or psychopaths. Some hide it better.
By “powers-that-shouldn’t-be”, I mean what Derrick Broze describes as the “predator class”, not just the “Republicans” or “Democrats” - the power structure that encompasses and controls them both, with perhaps a few exceptions. I first heard “powers that shouldn’t be” from spiritual You Tuber The Alchemist.
Everyone should say no to war!
Trump, Biden, Erdoğan, and Putin are all the same: political leaders in the billionaires club. They are fascist criminals working together for the same globalist goal: the depopulation of the world and the cleansing of humanity. With robots and AI, fascist Zionists no longer need immigrants or a large population. They want to kill all non-Zionists and be the only ones left on Earth!
- Please say no to war!
- Keep your guns; otherwise, you'll be the next genocide victims or slaves!
-Talk to your friends and family about the fascist depopulation agenda.
- Don't trust the fake media, fake world organizations, or fake democracy.
- Call for an end to inequity worldwide, regardless of religion or ideology.
- Call for an end to fraudulent elections, illusory votes, and voting for preselected, globalist prime minister (political) candidates.
- Encourage patriotic elections using "public voting" as a permanent, fully transparent, and impossible-to-falsify democratic voting process, which means same designed slogans and display them on your hats, T-shirts, jackets, windows, balconies, house facades, cars, and trucks...
- Please use "Public Voting" from today to stop the clown dictator Trump, stop the globalist mafia, to stop finally the satanic fascist deep state.
Freedom, equality, equity, Justice, peace, Fraternity and folks Prosperity
